
For 2009, builders of qualified energy-efficient homes can receive a $2,000 credit for the construction of energy-efficient new homes that achieve a 50 percent reduction in heating and cooling energy consumption relative to a comparable dwelling constructed under the current 2003 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), including supplements.
In addition to the $2,000 credit for homes meeting a 50 percent standard, manufacturers of ENERGY STAR manufactured homes can receive $1,000.
