Sill Plate

There is a STYROFOAM™ solution for every Sill Plate application.

Up to 40% of a home's heat is lost due to air infiltration, some of which escapes between the home's sill plate and foundation wall. The top of concrete foundations are often irregular and not smooth. Consequently, when the wood sill plate is placed over the rough concrete foundation, air gaps form between the sill plate and the foundation, allowing air infiltration. STYROFOAM™ Sill Seal Foam Gasket is specially designed for use between the foundation and sill plate. One side is corrugated to compensate for foundation top irregularity. It ensures an airtight building envelope for energy savings. STYROFOAM Sill Seal forms an ideal seal between rough opening and windows and doors. Its compressibility and air-tight cell structure make it an outstanding material for chinking around windows and doors.
