Score Big with STYROFOAM™ SIS™ Brand Sheathing
Three home runs in one: structural shear bracing, significant insulation performance and water-resistive barrier. Innovative STYROFOAM SIS Brand Structural Insulated Sheathing is designed to deliver it all. This sheathing can be used as braced wall panels attached next to other rigid insulated sheathing. It can also serve as continuous structural insulated sheathing over the entire braced wall line.
Either way, lightweight STYROFOAM SIS Brand sheathing helps save the builder the time and labor costs it would take to separately install a structural surface, insulation and water-resistive barrier (combined with sheathing joints taped with WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape ). This convenient "one trip around the house" contributes to an efficient installation time.
STYROFOAM SIS Brand Structural Insulated Sheathing combines structural shear bracing, insulation and water-resistive barrier properties in one solution. This sheathing can be used as braced wall panels integrated with other rigid insulated sheathing. It can also serve as continuous structural insulated sheathing on the entire braced wall line. STYROFOAM SIS Brand sheathing provides high R-value and eliminates the need for OSB, wood let-in bracing or metal T-bracing. It also helps lower the installed cost because it allows the builder to install structural support, insulation and water-resistive barrier in "one trip around the house".
